<li><strong>Executive Coaching is for individuals with an overreaching need and willingness to grow. </strong>Executives seeking the services of an executive coach have a need and willingness to change and grow on a professional as well as personal level. Executive coaching (with a competent executive coach) speeds up the process and helps the executive achieve results in a shorter span of time.</li>
<li><strong>Executive Coaching helps executives become more attuned to their behaviors and skills.</strong> Self-awareness is not about ‘what should be’ -it’s about ‘what is.’ Smart executives place a high priority on becoming self-aware and realize that executive coaches can help them master this skill. <p>This worldwide public vote was conducted as part of The 8<sup>th</sup> Annual <a title="International Business Awards" href="http://www.stevieawards.com/iba" target="_blank">International Business Awards</a>, the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in business.</p>
<p>Nicknamed the Stevie® for the Greek word “crowned,” the awards will be presented to honorees at the IBA awards banquet on Tuesday, 11 October in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  <a title="Tickets for the event are now on sale" href="http://www.stevieawards.com/pubs/iba/general/173_714_3170.cfm" target="_blank">Tickets for the event are now on sale</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ActionCOACH has taken its place alongside such household names as Apple, Constant Contact, Overstock.com, Whole Foods Market, Cisco and Groupon as winner of this year’s Stevie for Best Overall Company in the Business Services category</p>
<p>This is the third straight year ActionCOACH was honored as a finalist and the second time the company has won the award, having taken home the trophy in 2007 as well.</p>
<p>One of the longest tenured ActionCOACH Master Licensees in the United States, Don Schin, attended the Awards Dinner and accepted the award for ActionCOACH.</p>

</span><br />
<strong> * Who do you want to connect with?</strong> Who do you want to connect with? and are you likely to connect with them in some way by networking?</p>
<p><strong> * Who do they want to connect with, and how and where do they make connections? </strong>There are many different types of networking. For instance, you&#8217;re unlikely to find the CEO of a $100 MM company at a leads group, but you may find someone that is connected to that CEO.</p>
<p><strong>  * What&#8217;s your networking &#8220;budget&#8221;?</strong> By that I mean, what is your plan for how, how often, and where you will commit your networking resources? There are enough opportunities that you could use all of your time networking, but is that your best strategy?</p>
<p><strong> * The flip side is that a plan also means consistency. </strong>Can you build productive relationships by showing up only on a sporadic basis for the groups and events you commit to?</p>
<p><strong> * The Golden Rule of Networking.</strong> How do you want to be treated while networking? How much more fun is a networking event when someone takes an active interest in you? So guess how they feel when you take an active interest in them?</p>
<p><strong>* When you are networking, do you have SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-Oriented, Time-frame related) goals?</strong> Or do you just waltz in without thinking about what you really want to achieve?</p>
<p><strong>* What is it that makes you captivating to someone else? </strong>Actively listening to them. Remember this acronym: W.A.I.T. (Why Am I Talking?) Do more listening than telling.</p>
<p><strong>   * Building relationships requires building trust.</strong> At a networking event, building trust means just that &#8211; you build it, you don&#8217;t jump into it. Earn the right to more of the other person&#8217;s time by being worthy of their trust.</p>
<p><strong>* Find common ground. Sometimes you can establish common ground based on a single shared interest. </strong>How much effort to you put in to having interests outside of your profession that might help you find common ground quickly with fellow networkers?</p>
<p><strong>   * What if your primary purpose was to help other people get connected to people you know that could help them? </strong> If you believe like I do that an active interest in helping others will be &#8220;repaid&#8221;, this is the way to do it.</p>
<p><strong>  * Follow up, follow up, and follow up.</strong> By the way, did I mention following up? The excitement of an opportunity identified at a networking event wears off very quickly in the absence of follow up. Create a system for following up within 24 hours and see how your results improve.</p>
<p><strong> * Networking at the Speed of Light: </strong>Think social media is a fad? Think again. If you don&#8217;t have a social media strategy, create one. While you&#8217;re sitting there convincing yourself that it won&#8217;t work for you, millions of people are out there making it work for them.</p>
<p>Do you want to make networking work for you? Then make it work for others.</p>

<p>Presenting in front of an audience is not everyone’s cup of tea but with the correct advice, guidelines and practice it can be enjoyable for both the presenter and the audience. Preparation is everything and it is essential that you know your subject matter. The more prepared you are, the more confident you will feel which makes for a better presentation.</p>
<p>Follow these simple tips and your presentations will be fun, interesting and rewarding for both you and your audience.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Keep your PowerPoint visual</strong> &#8211; Keep them clean, not too wordy and relative to the presentation. They should just be a visual representation of the subject. The audience isn’t there to read your slides; they are there to listen to you present.</li>
<li><strong>Engage with the audience </strong>- Make eye contact with everyone throughout the room. If you don’t do this then you aren’t engaging the audience, you are just talking to yourself. Each person should feel like you are speaking to them personally.</li>
<li><strong>Deliver with a passion</strong> &#8211; It&#8217;s amazing how catchy enthusiasm is. If your voice is expressive and your gestures animated, you will appear confident and passionate.</li>
<li><strong>Make them laugh</strong> &#8211; Have some fun! Although you want to educate your audience, you need to make them laugh too. In essence, it keeps the audience alert and they’ll learn more from you than someone who just educates.</li>
<li><strong>Ask questions</strong> &#8211; People hate it when they get talked at, so don’t do it. You need to interact with your audience and create a conversation. The easiest way to do this is to ask them questions as well as letting them ask you questions.</li>
<li><strong>Be human</strong> &#8211; Simply be truthful to your audience. Telling the truth and being human will earn you respect and people will trust you for your honesty. Putting yourself on a pedestal and being super-human can work against you. So tell them how it is.</li>
<li><strong>Don’t over prepare</strong> &#8211; Of course, you need to be prepared enough to know what you are going to talk about but just enough to make sure your presentation flows naturally and not sound memorized. Experienced speakers will tell you not to rehearse your presentation too much because then it won’t sound natural.</li>
<li><strong>Show some movement </strong>- Keep yourself moving. People will stay engaged if you are animated. If you have a large audience or big stage make sure you spend an equal amount of time in front of all of your audience.  Being animated also helps display a sense of passion too.</li>
<li><strong>Watch what you say</strong> &#8211; You may not notice when you say words like “uhm” or “ah”, but the audience does. If you use them a lot when presenting it can get quite irritating; so much that some members of the audience will probably count how many times you say these useless words and tell you!</li>
<li><strong>Don&#8217;t read directly from your notes </strong>- One of the most common mistakes made by first time speakers is to stand up and read directly from notes. If a speaker is looking down at a page of notes it does not allow them to engage eye contact with the audience to hold their interest. As alternative, bullet point key messages that you wish to get across on cue cards to keep you on track and it won&#8217;t sound so scripted.</li>
